There is no best season to do the wine tours in France because the scenery varies in each season, giving you the chance to see different activities in the vineyard or the winery.
However wine grape harvest is the most interesting period because you’ll see the workers picking grapes in the vineyard and the wine machines in action. The exact dates of the annual grape harvest vary each year, however, it generally falls between September and October and lasts about 2 to 3 weeks.
Please wear comfortable shoes to walk in the vineyard and bring a jacket as the underground cellar is quite cold even in summer (around 10°C/55°F).
